CMS Paid $1.84B in Medicare, Medicaid EHR Incentives So Far

As of the end of November, CMS' Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record Incentive Program paid approximately $1.84 billion to meaningful users of EHRs, according to a HIMSS news release.

Of the $1.84 billion in incentive payments, $920 million was paid through the Medicare program and $916 million was paid through the Medicaid program. In addition, by the end of November a total of 154,000 eligible professionals and 2,868 eligible hospitals had registered.
