For the third year in a row, CIOs identified achieving meaningful use as their organization's top IT priority in the 2014 HIMSS Leadership Survey.
The survey results, based on responses from 298 senior IT executives, revealed the following to be hospitals' top IT priorities in the next two years:
- Meeting meaningful use (25 percent)
- Optimizing use of current systems (19 percent)
- Leveraging information (17 percent)
- Completing ICD-10 conversion (16 percent)
- Focusing on clinical systems (7 percent)
- Adding IT support for risk-based contracting (3 percent)
- Demonstrating ability to exchange information (3 percent)
