CIO Compensation Has Increased 7.5% Since 2011

The median compensation for healthcare CIOs has increased 7.5 percent since 2011, according to a report by the Medical Group Management Association.

The median salary for a CIO jumped from $123,597 to $132,898.

The increase is due to a host of new challenges faced by CIOs, including implementing electronic health records and meeting meaningful use criteria, according to a news release.
