Trainer Rx, a digital health startup providing personalized, app-based rehabilitation programs for patients with musculoskeletal conditions, announced on Dec. 9 a name change to RecoveryOne and the close of a $12 million funding round.
The funding was led by Cigna Ventures, a venture capital fund and wholly owned indirect subsidiary of insurer Cigna. The funding and name change will support RecoveryOne's plans to expand the reach of its telerehab offerings.
The RecoveryOne platform combines digital rehab, therapy and education programs, remote live coaching and a portal for physicians and physical therapists to track progress. Though the personalized platform was previously deployed only through physician practices, in recent months RecoveryOne has expanded its reach to include health plans, hospitals and health systems, and will continue to do so with the new funding and rebranding.
"Our new brand is a declaration of the goal we share with most healthcare innovators: to improve the cost, quality and productivity associated with recovery from musculoskeletal conditions, and to do it in a way that puts the consumer in charge," RecoveryOne CEO Mark Luck Olson said in the announcement. "It is also a sign of great things to come. We are building on our strong foundation of evidence-based clinical pathways, ubiquitous access to our digital platform and human connection."
