The roles and responsibilities of chief medical informatics officers are changing as healthcare organizations continue to adopt new technologies, according to a news release by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
HIMSS Analytics' study, "Medical Device Integration: CMIO and CNO Perspectives," reveals CMIOS', CNOs' and senior nursing executives' opinions on how their roles are changing and their influence on IT decisions and priorities.
The study showed that CMIOs recognize the importance of connecting with senior nursing executives and physicians and have frequent contact with other C-level hospital executives.
