Arizona's statewide HIE to eliminate community provider fees

The Network, Arizona's statewide health information exchange run by nonprofit Arizona Health-e Connection, will eliminate its fee for community providers beginning Oct. 1, according to a Healthcare Informatics report.

Under the HIE's new funding model, hospitals and health plans will cover the operating expenses previously funded by community provider fees, according to the report.

Community providers include private practice primary care and specialty care providers, federally qualified health centers, rural health clinics, public health facilities, correctional facilities and first responders, according to the report.
