The American Medical Association has long been a vocal opponent of government regulations in health IT, specifically the meaningful use program. On Monday, the AMAheld a physician town hall meeting in Atlanta for physicians to share grievances and also discuss solutions regarding EHRs and regulations.
Tangential to the town hall meeting, the AMA launched a website called Break the Red Tape, an online forum for physicians and stakeholders to do much of the same and petition the administration to postpone finalizing meaningful use stage 3 regulations to better align with other programs under the merit-based incentive payment system.
