AHA working with FBI to share cybersecurity intelligence

The FBI is working with the American Hospital Association to share cybersecurity intelligence in the wake of growing vulnerabilities and cybersecurity threats that could affect the healthcare sector.

Per request from the FBI, the AHA is sharing two documents with members regarding cybersecurity issues and concerns. One document is a "private industry notification" called "Perpetrators Use Social Engineering Techniques to Solicit Customer Information from Telecommunication Company Employees" and the other document is an "external intelligence note" called "Cyber Underground Inject Writer Services Facilitate Criminal Intrusions."

The FBI asked the AHA to share the documents through a secure portal instead of a publicly accessible communications channel, so the documents are only made available to AHA members through a cybersecurity webpage.

Additionally, the AHA asks that "because of the sensitive nature of the information contained in these documents, please share them only with colleagues who have a valid need to know, including your CISO, CIO, CTO, legal counsel and others who are critical to your cybersecurity efforts."
