According to data CMS released earlier this month, a total of 75 hospitals have attested to meaningful use during the 2014 reporting year, and eight of those have attested to meaningful use stage 2.
While CMS has not released the names of the eight attesting hospitals, the following hospitals' electronic health record vendors have reported their attestation:
- Carson Tahoe Health (Carson City, Nev.)[1]
- Cottage Hospital (Woodsville, N.H.)[2]
- DuBois (Pa.) Regional Medical Center[3]
- Harrisburg Medical Center (Harrisburg, IL)[4]
- Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital (Sweetwater, Texas)[5]
- Somerset Medical Center (Somerville, N.J.)[6]
- Uniontown (Pa.) Hospital[7]
- University of Missouri Health Care (Columbia)[8]
At the start of May, CMS announced just four hospitals had reached stage 2, sparking renewed industry calls for more flexibility in the meaningful use timeline. Because many providers' concerns stemmed from vendors delivering 2014 Edition software updates later than expected, CMS issued a proposed rule that would allow providers that encountered vendor delays to attest using 2011 Edition software or attest to another year of stage 1. The rule has not yet gone into effect.
