University Hospitals in Ohio Planning to Trim $100M by 2012

University Hospitals, based in Cleveland, Ohio, plans to cut $100 million over the next two years to compensate for lower state and federal reimbursements, according to a Plain Dealer report.

Health system officials are hoping to cut expenses by improving efficiencies, shifting to alternate models of care and expanding services that can increase revenue. Layoffs are not expected to be a part of the system's cost-cutting efforts.
