Boston-based Partners HealthCare, which includes Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, reported a loss of $122 million in the fourth quarter ended Sept. 30, 2011, but the health system still posted an operating profit of $233 million in fiscal year 2011, according to a Boston Globe report.
The operating income is up 19.5 percent from last year, and total revenue went up 6 percent to $8.5 billion, according to the report.
Overall, Partners HealthCare reported a 2.7 percent profit margin, which was in between its goal of 2.5 percent and 3 percent.
