Children's Health System, based in Norfolk, Va., has reported operating income and operating revenues of $16.9 million and $349.5 million, respectively, for 2011, according to a Virginian-Pilot report.
The health system's 2011 operating income represents a 40 percent drop since 2010. In addition, the organization reported an increase of 3.1 percent in net revenue from patient services to $339.2 million. Approximately 0.5 percent of gross patient revenue, or $3.9 million, was used for charity care.
