A Detroit Medical Center hospital is no longer in jeopardy of losing its Medicare funding after passing an inspection, NPR affiliate Michigan Radio reports.
Detroit Medical Center's Sinai-Grace Hospital was in jeopardy of losing its Medicare contract for most of 2018 due to issues with nursing care and building safety, according to federal reports cited by The Detroit News. However, officials from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs found the hospital was no longer in violation of numerous Medicare compliance rules.
Funding would have been removed Aug. 31 had the hospital still been out of compliance, according to the report. DMC officials didn't respond to Michigan Radio's request for comment.
