Four acute-care hospitals and health systems have received credit downgrades in the past 30 days, according to a report by HFA Partners.
The hospital and health systems receiving the credit downgrades include:
• Gritman Medical Center (Moscow, Idaho) — from BBB to BBB- (S&P)
• Mercy Medical Center (Canton, Ohio) — Baa3 to Ba2 (Moody's)
• Northwest Community Hospital (Arlington Heights, Ill.) — from A1 to A2 (Moody's)
• Parrish Medical Center (Titusville, Fla.) — from A to A- (S&P)
In the same month-long span, five hospitals and health systems received credit upgrades. They include:
• Baycare Health System (Clearwater, Fla.) — from Aa3 to Aa2 (Moody's)
• Lawrence (Kan.) Memorial Hospital — from A2 to A1 (Moody's)
• St. Francis Regional Medical Center (Shakopee, Minn.) — from BBB to BBB+ (S&P)
• Virtua Health (Marlton, N.J.) — from A to A+ (S&P)
• Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare (Glendale, Wis.) — from Baa2 to Baa1 (Moody's)
Eight hospitals and health systems also had positive rating affirmation changes, while six hospitals and health systems had negative rating affirmation changes.
