University of Toledo seeks new EMR

The University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio has issued a request for proposal to the institution's purchasing services for a new EMR system.

The news was first reported by HIStalk on Feb. 12.

According to the RFP, the academic medical center is currently using a set of former McKesson modules that was sunset when Allscripts acquired McKesson's IT assets in 2017, as well as a number of other third-party systems such as athenahealth.

UTMC wants to fully implement a new EMR by December 2020, according to the RFP. Proposals are due by 3 p.m. on March 12, and UTMC expects to award a contract in May.
