Oracle introduced a new AI-powered clinical documentation tool designed for its ambulatory care customers.
Integrated within the Oracle Health EHR system, the tool uses automation and voice commands to help physicians transcribe patient conversations and create draft notes directly in the EHR, aiming to automate the entire documentation process, according to a June 24 news release from Oracle.
Oracle said the tool can help providers maintain oversight and control by reviewing, modifying and approving notes and next-step actions.
Physicians at 13 initial adopter organizations, including Billings Clinic in Montana and Covenant Health in Tewksbury, Mass., have reported saving an average of more than four and a half minutes per patient and reducing daily documentation time by 20% to 40%, the release said.
