ONC chose the Sequoia Project, a nonprofit focused on health IT interoperability, to oversee part of its Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement project.
As the Recognized Coordinating Entity, Sequoia Project will develop, update, implement and maintain the Common Agreement component of TEFCA.
TEFCA is part of ONC's 21st Century Cures Act and was established to help improve electronic health information exchange among health information networks.
In addition to overseeing the Common Agreement as the RCE, Sequoia Project will work with ONC to select and monitor Qualified Health Information Networks.
