Large and midsize hospitals are most likely to consider implementing an Epic, Cerner or Meditech EMR for acute care management as opposed to other vendors, according to a recent KLAS Research report.
For its Acute Care EMR Decision Insights 2019 report, KLAS analyzed EMR purchasing considerations and decisions among hospitals with more than 500 beds as well as hospitals with 201-500 beds.
Here are the EMR vendors rankings based on a 100-point scale:
Epic Care Inpatient: 88.6.
Meditech Expanse: 83.8
Epic Community Connect: 79.9.
Athenahealth: 79.1.
Cerner: 76.3.
Allscripts Sunrise: 71.9.
CPSI: 60.6.
Allscripts Paragon: 52.1
When asked whether they would purchase their respective EMR system again, here is how many hospitals responded "yes."
Epic Care Inpatient: 98 percent.
Meditech Expanse: 92 percent.
Epic Community Connect: 88 percent.
Athenahealth: 86 percent.
Cerner: 84 percent.
Allscripts Sunrise: 66 percent.
CPSI: 40 percent.
Allscripts Paragon: 35 percent.
