ChristianaCare to switch to Epic

Newark, Del.-based ChristianaCare plans to switch from Oracle Health to Epic for its EHR.

The three-hospital system made the decision to "position us to be most successful in delivering innovative, high-quality, affordable, accessible, equitable care to the communities we serve," a ChristianaCare spokesperson told Becker's in a statement Oct. 3.

ChristianaCare plans to go live with Epic early in the fall of 2026. The roughly $3 billion organization is yet another health system moving to Epic, which has been growing its already leading hospital market share.

"The transition to Epic will create significant gains in efficiency and support our ability to provide high-quality, affordable, equitable care, and it will also reduce the overall costs associated with our electronic health record," the spokesperson said.
