Medigate, a medical device security management platform, announced on Dec. 19 its new partnership with Cerner.
Under the partnership, Medigate and Cerner will provide the EHR vendor's hospital and health system clients with visibility into its security of medical and internet of things devices.
Cerner EHR clients that choose to implement Medigate's medical device security and asset management solution will receive support from Cerner's team of cybersecurity experts, who will help create clinical-based policies that help protect all connected devices and reduce cyberattack risks.
"It's important that the healthcare industry proactively work to prevent data breaches and cyberthreats rather than wait to react after the damage has been done," said Jay Savaiano, senior director of security solutions at Cerner, according to the news release.
