Uber Health expands, allows providers to order groceries for patients

Uber Health, the healthcare arm of Uber, will expand and start to offer grocery and over-the-counter pharmacy product delivery to patients.

Payers and providers can use the Uber Health platform, the same one they use to schedule nonemergency transportation services for patients, to deliver groceries and pharmacy items directly to patient homes. All deliveries will be conducted by Uber Eats, according to a June 13 press release from Uber.

The expansion builds on the company's existing offerings, which include getting patients and members to healthcare appointments, as well as delivering prescription medications to patients.
