Microsoft cloud adds new capabilities for healthcare providers

Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare has added new capabilities including patient insights, patient trends and a tool that can predict missed appointments.

The new enhancements aim to ease the burden on providers and help facilitate proactive healthcare, according to an Oct. 12 Microsoft blog post.

Seven new enhancements:

  1. Patient trends: A preview feature that allows clinicians to share patient indicators based on computed measures and insights about patient activities. The feature can be customized to help measure patient activities most relevant to the health systems' needs.

  2. Patient snapshot: Allows healthcare organizations to optimize the patient view summary.

  3. Missed appointment prediction: An AI-based tool that allows organizations to assess the likelihood that a patient will miss their next appointment.

  4. Health database templates in Azure Synapse: Templates for providers, payors, pharmaceuticals, clinical trials, retail pharmacies and genomics that help organizations create analytics for use cases.

  5. Dataverse healthcare APIs: A tool that helps organizations integrate and exchange FHIR data between Microsoft Dataverse, Microsoft Azure Health Data Services and EHR systems.

  6. Data integration toolkit: Tools that IT executives can use to set up, configure, and manage their data integration components.
