Amazon named Doug Herrington as CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores.
Mr. Herrington, who joined Amazon in 2005, has developed and launched several key programs at Amazon, including AmazonFresh in 2007, according to a June 21 blog post.
As part of the announcement, Amazon also said it was changing the name of the consumer business to Amazon Stores and that it would also bring the operations group under a single leader, John Felton.
Mr. Felton has been at Amazon for 18 years and will directly report to Mr. Herrington.
The two executive moves come shortly after Dave Clark, CEO of Amazon's Worldwide Consumer, announced he was resigning from the company July 1.
Mr. Clark spent 23 years at Amazon.
