Retail giant Amazon is freezing corporate hiring for a "few months" due to the economic environment.
The company will continue to hire employees to replace workers who left the company and continue to hire incrementally in some areas, according to a Nov. 3 Amazon memo.
The news comes after Amazon cut jobs in its radio app department and ended its Amazon Care service for employers. The company remains 'excited' about its healthcare business, according to the memo.
"We're facing an unusual macro-economic environment, and want to balance our hiring and investments with being thoughtful about this economy," Amazon Senior Vice President of People Experience and Technology Beth Galetti wrote in the memo.
