New Jersey innovation campus, largest hospital in Israel partner on 'hospital of the future' simulation

SciTech Scity, a science and technology innovation campus in N.J., is teaming up with Sheba Medical Center, the largest hospital in Israel, to launch a simulation facility focused on the future of digital health and hospitals in Jersey City, the organizations said Oct. 22. 

Five details: 

1. Under the partnership, Sheba Medical Center will become the first innovation partner and first international tenant at SciTech Scity. Liberty Science Center is developing the 30-acre campus. 

2. Sheba will use the office space, dubbed the Liberty ARC HealthSpace2030, as a simulation space focused on advancing digital health and home care. 

3. Liberty ARC HealthSpace 2030 will deploy various technologies that integrate sensing, monitoring, artificial intelligence, communication, augmented reality and robotic technologies to improve patient care. The innovations will focus on promoting healthy living, coping with chronic diseases at home and promoting health equity. 

4. Sheba Medical Center also will test and introduce digital health and home health products in underserved communities in Jersey City as part of the collaboration. 

5. Liberty ARC HealthSpace 2030 is part of the first phase of development, slated to cost $300 million, of SciTech Scity. The first phase is scheduled to open between late 2023 and 2024.
