North Carolina health system rebrands: 4 things to know

A North Carolina health system has begun rolling out a rebrand.

Here are four things to know:

1. The former Dunn, N.C.-based Harnett Health started changing its signage and patient communications branding Oct. 1 to reflect its 2021 merger with Fayetteville, N.C.-based Cape Fear Valley Health.

2. For instance, Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn will be known as Cape Fear Valley Betsy Johnson Hospital while Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington will be rebranded Cape Fear Valley Central Harnett Hospital.

3. "In almost all the cases, the names are nearly the same as they were before, now they'll just say 'Cape Fear Valley Health' instead of 'Harnett Health,'" Harnett Health President Cory Hess said in a Sept. 30 statement. "Our employees and internal systems like Epic have already joined under Cape Fear Valley's naming and branding, so we're excited to finalize this process."

4. The name changes at each of the 24 facilities still branded as Harnett Health will become official once the new signage is erected, with installation expected to last through October.
