UChicago Medicine partners with digital cancer care company

University of Chicago Medicine is partnering with Carrum Health, a digital health company that connects patients with centers of excellence, to bring breast cancer care to self-insured employers.

Patients eligible for the program will be able to receive up to two years of breast cancer treatment at UChicago Medicine on a fixed-price bundle found in Carrum's digital platform. Cancer patients will be paired with Carrum team members to help them with the administrative process of getting cancer treatment, according to a Jan. 25 Carrum news release.

"Cancer will dominate employee benefits in 2023. It's become what mental health was in 2021 – a topic that benefit managers can no longer ignore," Carrum CEO Sach Jain said. "Employers are increasingly looking for solutions with value-based bundled payment arrangements to reduce the financial burden for both the employer and employee and to improve the care experience for their employees and their families. Carrum is thrilled to partner with such a high-quality provider like UChicago Medicine to extend our cancer care bundle to employers in the Midwest."
