Virtual reality company FundamentalVR has raised $20 million is series B funding for its surgical simulation platform.
The platform, called Fundamental Surgery, is designed to recreate the physical touch of surgical actions and includes sounds common to a surgical procedure. FundamentalVR hopes that this type of immersion will lower real-life surgical risk, according to the Aug. 11 FundamentalVR news release provided to Becker's.
The funding round was led by EQT Life Sciences. This funding brings FundamentalVR's total raised to over $30 million, according to the news release.
