Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health has launched the Sanford Virtual Care Center, a facility dedicated to advancing virtual care.
The center will serve as a training hub for the next generation of clinicians and host an accelerator focused on AI and innovative technologies to support rural patients, according to a news release shared with Becker's.
"The Virtual Care Center is more than just a state-of-the-art building—it represents our commitment to reimagining care delivery," said Dave Newman, MD, chief medical officer of virtual care at Sanford said in the release. "Virtual care is the most important tool we have to tackle workforce shortages in rural areas. We’re excited to train future clinicians in 'webside manner' and bring care closer to patients, meeting them where they are."
The Sanford Virtual Care Center is a key component of Sanford Health's Virtual Care Initiative.
