Health tech company Zelis has acquired Payspan, a firm that processes electronic payments for the healthcare industry, as it aims to provide more seamless payment delivery to insurers, providers and consumers.
As part of the deal, Zelis said it hopes to streamline payment and communications options for payers and their clients, allowing them to select the optimal payment modality.
"These two organizations coming together brings unprecedented visibility across the financial experience that will help us unlock the most abrasive aspects of the payment process," Zelis CEO Amanda Eisel said in a Nov. 9 company news release. "We're energized to evolve the business of healthcare together."
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
