COVID-19 era digital health tools to see 'churn activity,' report says

A new report from Panda Health predicts that digital health tools used by hospitals to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic will be subject to increased scrutiny and turnover.

Authors of the report believe telehealth tools and remote patient monitoring tools would see the most churn. The survey of more than 100 hospital executives found that 52 percent were very satisfied with their telehealth tools, according to the June 13 Panda Health report.

"Hospitals stepped up during the pandemic and acted with unprecedented speed to deploy digital health solutions," Ryan Bengston, COO and president of Panda Health, said in the report. "They didn't have the luxury of spending months evaluating options—but now time is on their side. With more knowledge about what they want, what they need, and what they can expect from digital solutions, the industry should brace for a significant amount of churn."
