BrightInsight joins VC firm General Catalyst's 'health assurance' network

BrightInsight is part of venture capital firm General Catalyst's "health assurance" network that is partnering with hospitals on innovation, the digital health company said Sept. 27.

BrightInsight helps digital health solutions — such as apps, analytics dashboards and software as a medical device — accelerate their time to market. Like other General Catalyst's portfolio companies, BrightInsight will be available to offer its services to health systems in the "health assurance" network.

"General Catalyst's 'health assurance' is focused on shifting the paradigm from a 'sick care' system to a resilient, proactive system that's designed to help people stay well, bend the cost curve through innovation, and make quality care more affordable and more accessible to all," said Daryl Tol, head of the health assurance ecosystem for General Catalyst, in the BrightInsight news release.

Mr. Tol stated that BrightInsight can help health systems "pilot regulated digital solutions, standardize data integrations and ultimately accelerate digital health scale and adoption."
