Cooperstown, N.Y.-based Bassett Healthcare Network is partnering with the Andreessen Horowitz Bio + Health fund to bring digital care to rural upstate New York patients.
Through the partnership, Bassett will utilize digital health technologies in Andreessen Horowitz's portfolio to deliver care to rural patients in its network. Additionally, the two organizations will collaborate to identify any unmet areas for digital health innovation.
In order to align their priorities, Andreessen Horowitz — also known as A16z — and Bassett have formed an executive committee, according to a Nov. 7 A16z news release.
"Bassett Healthcare Network is doing transformative work at the intersection of digital and rural health," Bassett Chief Legal and Digital Health Officer Paul Uhrig said. "This partnership with a16z and their portfolio companies opens the door for Bassett to not just better serve our patients but also create a framework and infrastructure that help build healthy rural communities across the country."
