The EHR is down at an Oklahoma hospital but the facility said it's still able to fully provide patient care.
Elk City, Okla.-based Great Plains Regional Medical Center has enlisted "external professionals" to bring back its network and data, according to a Sept. 12 Facebook post from the 62-bed hospital.
"Our goals right now are to assure the community that we are fully capable of patient care and we are working to fully restore our electronic systems as quickly as possible," the post said. "It may be a few days before full functionality can be restored."
KECO in Elk City reports that a ransomware group locked the hospital's network and is demanding payment for its release. Becker's reached out to the hospital for more information.
