Louisville, Ky.-based Norton Healthcare said its information services and cybersecurity experts have launched an investigation into a cybersecurity event that forced the hospital to shut down its email and internet access.
Some of Norton Healthcare's computer network systems have been offline since the attack started on May 9, according to a May 11 breach notification from the hospital.
All of the hospital's locations remain open, but are operating on downtime procedures.
The hospital said that as it learns more about the incident, it will continue to provide updates.
As of May 15, no information regarding the scope of the incident has been disclosed.
