Chicago-based Roseland Community Hospital Association identified unauthorized access to its IT network June 2.
Roseland Community Hospital investigated the unauthorized access and found files had been copied and removed from the system. The files included patient information such as names, addresses, diagnosis and treatment information. The hospital is working with law enforcement to further investigate the incident. Roseland Community Hospital began notifying patients whose information was breached Aug. 1.
"We take this incident very seriously and sincerely regret any concern this may cause," said the health system in a statement.
