Google launched beta availability of its cloud security command center for Google Cloud Platform customers Dec. 5.
Here are three things to know about the service:
1. Google unveiled plans for the cloud security command center in March, describing it as a dashboard that provides organizations visibility into their data security across Google Cloud services.
"If you're building applications or deploying infrastructure in the cloud, you need a central place to help understand your security posture, put it in a business context and act on changes," Andy Chang, senior product manager at Google Cloud, wrote in a Dec. 5 company blog post.
2. The cloud security command center provides security teams with information related to cloud infrastructure, configuration, application and data risk. The goal is to provide security teams with data so they can monitor cloud services and assess potential vulnerabilities, according to Google.
3. The service's beta release includes various new features, such as an ability to view and search for new and deleted cloud assets over a specified period of time and expanded client libraries like Java and Node.
