This year, George Hernandez Jr., CEO of University Health System in San Antonio, Texas, will earn $625,000 — a $150,000 raise from 2012, according to a San Antonio Express-News report.
UHS, a county-owned system, approved a $75,000 raise and $75,000 bonus for Mr. Hernandez. Board members said the increased pay was for his "outstanding" work in the past year and to bring his compensation closer to that of other Texas-based, public-owned hospital districts, according to the report.
