Honolulu-based Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, which runs 14 hospitals and healthcare facilities on five islands, released salary figures for its top executives, and CEO Bruce Anderson's salary is the highest at $242,250, according to a Honolulu Civil Beat report.
Howard Ainsley, regional CEO of HHSC's East Hawaii division, received a 5 percent raise, bringing his salary to $240,000, according to the report.
However, Mr. Anderson's salary is significantly lower than other hospital systems in Hawaii. Art Ushijima, president and CEO of Queen's Health Systems, has a base salary of $585,105 and total compensation of $1.3 million, and Chuck Sted, president and CEO of Hawaii Pacific Health, had a base salary of $753,034 and total compensation of $2.29 million, according to the systems' most recent tax filings.
