The next CEO of Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas will earn roughly $950,000, according to a Dallas Business Journal report.
The hospital board approved a contract with Chicago-based executive search firm Korn/Ferry International, which will receive 31.5 percent of the new CEO's first-year salary, or about $300,000, according to the report.
Former Parkland CEO Ron Anderson, MD, left at the end of 2011 after the board voted to not renew his contract. The hospital also came under fire last year for committing several patient safety violations, which endangered its Medicare status. Dr. Anderson made roughly $1 million per year in compensation.
