Salaries for New York-area hospital and health system CEOs and CFOs are particularly higher, according to the article. New York-based hospital and health system CEOs make 29 percent more than the national market average, while CFOs make 28 percent more.
Cash compensation levels, which include salary plus incentives and bonuses, within the New York metro area are also 19 percent higher on average compared with the national market. Cash compensation for New York hospital and health system CEOs was 33 percent more on average, and CFOs earned 35 percent more than the national averages.
Data was based on IHS' most recent New York Metropolitan Area Survey, which recorded compensation data for 12 executive positions of 10 health systems and 13 hospitals.
