Lewiston-based Central Maine Healthcare will close Maine Urgent Care in Topsham and consolidate services with the Lewiston location on Sept. 30, according to a Sept. 22 report from the Portland Press Herald.
The consolidation will allow the organization to increase staffing and urgent care access in the community, according to the report.
"Maine Urgent Care in Topsham has served as a vital resource to the local community. This was especially true during the beginning of the pandemic, when it offered continual COVID-19 testing at a time when it was urgently needed," said Jason Krupp, president of the Central Maine Medical Group and senior vice president of Central Maine Healthcare.
The Topsham Care Center will continue to offer a number of specialty services including cardiology, gastroenterology, surgical oncology and gynecology.
