7 heart center, program openings, closings and expansions

Here are seven heart center and program openings, closings, consolidations and expansions since Nov. 16:

  1. The Heart Mountain Interpretive Center, based in Park County, Wyo., is doubling its size with two expansions.

  2. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, both in New Brunswick, N.J., opened the Cardiac Amyloidosis and Cardiomyopathy Center, located at the hospital.

  3. Ascension Providence Rochester (Mich.) Hospital opened a cardiac catheterization lab.

  4. Sunnyside, Washington-based Astria Health is ending all heart procedures and interventional cardiology services at its clinics and Astria Sunnyside Hospital.

  5. Cincinnati-based Mercy Health is consolidating its open-heart surgery program to two Ohio hospitals starting mid-2023.

  6. Stony Brook (N.Y.) Heart Institute Valve Center expanded treatment services for patients with severe aortic stenosis.

  7. Mason City-based MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center expanded cardiology services at its Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.
