Provo, Utah-based Intermountain Utah Valley Hospital opened a new patient tower Jan. 27 as part of a major renovation project that began in 2015.
The 12-story Pedersen Patient Tower features patient rooms that are twice the size of rooms in the hospital's East Tower and includes an emergency department and cardiovascular intensive care unit.
The final stage of the hospital's multiyear $430 million renovation project will be to tear down the East Tower to make way for a garden and outdoor seating area.
