Cleveland-based University Hospitals is opening a new urgent care facility in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, on July 25 and plans to open multiple new urgent care locations across several neighborhoods.
University Hospitals said in a July 20 news release its goal is to deliver care closer to where patients live, work and shop.
The health system said increasing the number of urgent care locations can relieve the burden on emergency departments, allowing them to focus on critical and life-threatening care, according to the release. The increased access to urgent care services will also help reduce wait times, ensuring patients receive timely treatment while alleviating strain on primary care providers.
University Hospitals is also expanding hours at Ohio urgent care centers in Amherst, Broadview Heights, Chagrin Highlands, Concord, Medina, Streetsboro, Twinsburg and Westlake.
