U of Iowa looks to get approval for $193M expansion project

Iowa City-based University of Iowa Healthcare is looking to get approval for nine construction projects costing a total of $193 million, The Gazette reported April 11.

Iowa City-based Stead Family Children’s Hospitals will add between $40 million and $49 million to the price tag. One of the projects the University of Iowa Healthcare is looking to get approved for is an expansion of its neonatal intensive care unit.

The health system is also looking to build a parking ramp, expand an emergency room, create more research facilities and raze old buildings.
