Memphis, Tenn.-based St. Jude Children's Research Hospital opened The Domino's Village, a $110 million, 140-room apartment building for cancer patients and their families, CoStar CoStar News reported Oct. 2.
Pizza chain Domino's first announced its commitment to raising $100 million for the project in 2020. The building is the fourth housing facility on the St. Jude campus. The Domino's Village will begin housing patients in October 2023, according to a Sept. 28 Domino's news release.
"Thanks to this historic act of generosity by Domino's, which was the largest corporate commitment we had ever received, The Domino's Village will be a home away from home for St. Jude families who come for treatment from all 50 states and around the world," Richard Shadyac Jr., president and CEO of ALSAC – the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude, said in the news release. "Today, we celebrate our most ambitious and comprehensive addition to St. Jude patient family housing, a step made possible by our dedicated partner and friends at Domino's."
