NewYork-Presbyterian to use $25M gift for residency program

New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian received a $25 million gift from the W.P. Carey Foundation to support the health system's residency program.

The program will train clinicians on digital tools such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics and machine learning.

Through the gift, the medical education program will be named after W.P. Carey, according to a June 22 NewYork-Presbyterian news release.

The W.P. Carey Foundation is a private philanthropic organization founded by the late William Polk Carey. Previously, the foundation supported the construction of a new emergency room at the hospital.
