Ruleville, Miss.-based North Sunflower Medical Center purchased a building that housed a donut shop and community college campus in Greenwood, Miss., The Enterprise-Tocsin reported April 12.
Financial terms of the transaction for the acquisition of the 14,000-square-foot space were not disclosed. North Sunflower Medical Center did not respond to the Enterprise-Tocsin's request for comment on what the health system will do with the acquired property.
The acquisition expands the health system's reach into Greenwood, putting it in direct competition with cash-strapped Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
