Munson Healthcare Manistee (Mich.) Hospital is reopening its emergency room following a $2.5 million renovation project the hospital had been working on over the past year, upnorthlive.com reported April 11.
During construction, the hospital moved the emergency room to its third floor. The renovation added more safety, isolation and decontamination rooms.
"This was an opportunity for us to completely rehaul that system and make sure we were to current standards," Manistee Hospital Community President Kelly Tomaszewski, RN, told upnorthlive.com. "Safety is always important and I know there are issues that happen within the country; we wanted to make sure we had the ability to fully lock down our ER, which we have the ability to do now."
